City Council's 5-3 vote decriminalizing up to 100 grams of marijuana Wednesday drew mixed responses from the community. The ordinance — proposed by Jeff Pastor and Vice Mayor Christopher Smitherman — allows people to freely possess 100 grams (3.53 ounces) with no age limit as long as they're within the city boundaries. It bans marijuana use in public.
