Welcome to the Museo del Carmen de Maipú, founded in 1956, in order to enhance the link between the devotion to the Virgin of Carmen and the national history, since the votive temple of Maipú was built in response to the fulfillment of the solemn promise that the people of Santiago contracted in April 1818, to build a temple to the Patron Saint of the Chilean Army where the battle to ensure the victory of Chilean arms and consolidate national independence took place.
