Tesla CEO Elon Musk said it might enter the mining business to ensure it can make enough batteries. According to Business Insider, this would help the company expand its product lineup. He said: "There's not much point in adding product complexity if we don't have enough batteries.” As the company’s battery production increases, it has to consider all parts of the supply chain. Musk said; "We'll do whatever we have to to ensure that we can scale at the fastest rate possible."
