According to a report by Reuters, Hong Kong braced for strikes, transport slow-downs and more mass demonstrations in protest of a proposed extradition law that would allow people to be sent to mainland China for trial, as the Chinese-ruled city's leader vowed defiance. Reuters reports that Hong Kong Chief Executive Carrie Lam said that she would push ahead with the bill despite concerns that triggered its largest political demonstration since it changed from British to Chinese rule.
