CNN reports a volcano in Russia that was previously considered extinct may be awakening.
The Bolshaya Udina volcano -- part of the Kamchatka Peninsula's Udina volcanic complex -- was believed to be extinct until 2017.
Scientists say the past couple years have seen increasing seismic activity detected beneath the volcano.
The volcano stands at 9,590 feet above sea level.
If it erupts, it could be a major threat to the small villages nearby.
