Geek.com reports that eight schools in western New York have been chosen to serve as pilot programs for facial recognition testing on students and faculty. The Lockport City School District was approved as a test location in late 2017 by the New York State Education Department and is now ready to activate its Aegis facial recognition system, but the controversial program may get a stay of execution.
