The North Face is apologizing for an ill-received marketing stunt.
On Tuesday, Ad Age ran a video explaining how North Face placed its own photos on Wikipedia pages, which led to top spots on Google image searches.
“We did what no one has done before. We hacked the results to reach one of the most difficult places: the top of the world’s largest search engine.” The text in the video
The promo states the company paid “absolutely nothing" and "collaborated with Wikipedia.
