CNN reports new research suggests **13 Reasons Why** caused a "suicide contagion" effect among young people.
Netflix was criticized by suicide prevention organizations after the streaming service released **13 Reasons Why** at the end of March 2017.
A new study published in JAMA Psychiatry says 94 more suicides took place in the three months after the show's release than were expected.
Researchers found an estimated 13% increase in suicide among children and teens, ages 10 to 19.
