Taika Waititi’s ‘Akira’ Is Coming In 2021

Hollywood’s live-action remake of beloved manga and anime ‘Akira’ is coming to theaters May 21, 2021.
According to Geek.com, the project is being handled by the talented New Zealand director, Taika Waititi New Zealand.
Much of Akira’s story is about children oppressed and exploited by uncaring governments.
Waititi’s Maori racial heritage has informed his New Zealand films like Boy and Hunt for the Wilderpeople, and even Thor: Ragnarok.
