Spokesman for Vietnam Ministry of Foreign Affairs Le Thi Thu Hang said "Vietnam requires China, as a big country, to demonstrate its sense of responsibility in maintaining peace and stability in the Sea. East."

Previously, CNBC reported that China had installed anti-ship cruise missiles and air-to-air missile systems at several locations in the South China Sea.

Vietnam's Foreign Ministry spokesman said Vietnam was extremely concerned about this information and accused it of a serious violation of Vietnam's sovereignty.

If confirmed, this is the first time China has deployed missiles to the South China Sea.

China claims its military facilities on the Spratly Islands only for self-defense purposes and Beijing has the right to do anything in its own territory.
