Amazon announced that its shareholders rejected the proposal to curb and audit its facial recognition service. According to Reuters, there is bipartisan support in Congress to one day regulate the technology. Rep. Mark Meadows said:“You’ve now hit the sweet spot that brings progressives and conservatives together.” Those against the government using the technology think there could be false matches and arrests. Others who want the government using it think it could help keep the public safe.
