Broadcasting & Cable reports that former Chicago mayor Rahm Emanuel has joined ABC News as an on-air contributor. Emanuel departed City Hall May 20 as Lori Lightfoot was named the new mayor of Chicago. 59-year-old Emanuel started as mayor in 2011. Previously he was White House chief of staff from 2009-2010 under President Barack Obama. Prior to that, he was a member of the U.S. House of Representatives, representing Illinois. ABC News has yet to specify Emanuel’s role at the network.
