On Wednesday, U.S. abortion-rights activists vowed to challenge an the new Alabama abortion bill.
Reuters reports the bill bans abortion in almost all cases, including pregnancies resulting from rape or incest.
Alabama pro-life activists are making an effort to get the Supreme Court to reconsider its 1973 ruling allowing it.
The state’s Republican governor, Kay Ivey, has a week to sign or veto the bill.
The bill will become the nation’s strictest anti-abortion law.
