New research has found a small but baffling link between Parkinson’s disease and appendectomies. According to Gizmodo, researchers from Case Western Reserve University in Ohio spotted an increased risk of the degenerative neurological disease among those who had their appendix removed. In fact, the risk was roughly three times higher. However, the study authors say it's still a very low risk, and shouldn't dissuade anyone from getting an appendectomy if needed.
