UPI reports that a newly discovered advance in blood testing may help develop new treatments for Alzheimer's disease. According to research published Wednesday in the journal Alzheimer's & Dementia, scientists have found that the number of fatty molecules found in blood may contribute to the build-up of the amyloid peptide in the brain. Amyloid peptide then turns into toxic plaques in the brain that damage nerve cells.
