Business Insider reports that Germany's new 6-mile stretch of "eHighway" has officially opened. The new stretch of road enables hybrid trucks to re-charge via overhead cables. Conductor rods attached to a truck's roof connects with 670-Volt overhead cables, which charge the trucks as they drive along the road. Inspired by electric train lines, the cutting edge transportation improvement cost Germany's Environment Ministry 14 million euros and is under testing until 2022.
