According to a report by Reuters, on Tuesday, Georgia became the fifth US state to outlaw abortion after a doctor can detect a fetal heartbeat. Georgia Governor Brian Kemp, a Republican, said as he signed the bill, "Our job is to do what is right, not what is easy." Reuters reports that Kentucky, Mississippi and Ohio have all enacted heartbeat laws since mid-March, joining Iowa which passed a similar measure last year.
