Teen hit by car in Avondale

A teenage girl is in critical condition at the hospital after she was hit by a car, according to police. The 15-year-old was crossing Reading Road between Hutchins and Lexington avenues in Avondale at about 1:40 p.m. when a 26-year-old driver in a 2009 Toyota Corolla hit her, police said. Lt. Brian Norris said the driver stopped and cooperated with investigators.
