Trump escalates simmering trade dispute with China
According to Reuters, President Donald Trump escalated a simmering trade dispute with China over the weekend, leading global equity markets into decline.
On May 6th, markets around the world hit a one-month low, including the price of crude oil, after President Trump tweeted renewed tariff threats.
The tweets effectively ended a four-month truce in escalations between Washington D.C. and Beijing.
One Chinese official said the atmosphere of the negotiations has changed.
