Director Joe Russo said the work Robert Downey Jr. has done for the Marvel Universe is “phenomenal.” He said the actor deserves an actor for the way “he has motivated popular culture.” Some think the Oscars are “resistant” in giving awards for superhero films, but think Downey deserves one.
