According to a report by Comicbook.com, on Thursday, Han Solo actor Harrison Ford issued a statement in response to the passing of Chewbacca actor Peter Mayhew, expressing his sorrow for his long-time on-screen counterpart. Ford wrote, "We were partners in film and friends in life for over 30 years and I loved him. He invested his soul in the character and brought great pleasure to the Star Wars audience.
