They may be natural swimmers, but this incredible footage from Bear Grylls’ latest TV show captures a female turtle almost drowning.
Hostile Planet reveals what happens when two male turtles battle it out for the right to mate with a female. During the pursuit the female finds herself pinned to the ground and unable to surface - leaving her dangerously close to drowning.
