Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro appeared in his first public appearance since the country’s uprising. Maduro appeared in a state television broadcast with Defense Minister Vladimir Padrino. According to Reuters, this comes after the opposition called for a military uprising. Maduro said he reinstated Gustavo Gonzalez Lopez as the head of the Sebin intelligence agency. He did not provide any details on why Manuel Cristopher Figuera took over the agency in 2018.
