1 person seriously injured in shooting near Lee's Summit schools

Lee’s Summit, Missouri, police said a person is seriously injured after a shooting Monday morning. The suspect remained on the loose as of noon. Dispatchers sent officers to the scene in the 1700 block of Northeast Ridgeview Drive on reports of a shooting at about 7 a.m. A police spokesperson said the shooting took place on Ridgeview Drive and the victim ran to Ball Drive, where they made contact with emergency responders.
