Republican Legislators Hope To Push Pro-Life Ideas With Trump In Office

Republican legislator are taking advantage of President Donald Trump’s interest in pro-life ideas. According to Politico, they are rallying behind Trump’s characterization of Democrats promoting “infanticide.” Anti-abortion groups are trying to push prevent bills that loosen restriction on third-trimester abortions. Instead they are pushing for bills that penalize health care providers for failing to care for infants who survive abortions. North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper vetoed such a bill because he said it criminalizes doctors that don’t even do that.
