U.S. Senate Majority leader Mitch McConnell plans to introduce new legislation. According to Reuters, he wants to raise the minimum age for buying tobacco products from 18 to 21. This would include vaping devices, in hopes to curb their “epidemic” use among teenagers. McConnell’s proposal is not extraordinary as other states and cities are also doing the same thing. The National Academy of Medicine revealed in a 2015 study that 90 percent of people start using cigarettes before their 19.
