‘Hellboy’ Reboot Earns $1.3 Million At Thursday Box Office

“Hellboy,” Lionsgate’s gory, R-rated reboot of the demonic comic book character, made $1.38 million at the box office in its Thursday night previews from over 2,700 screens. It opes on 3,303 screens this weekend. It’s one of four films releasing wide this weekend, and all four are going up against DC’s “Shazam!,” which enters into its second weekend after a $56.8 million domestic opening. “Shazam!” made another $2.3 million Thursday, bringing its cumulative domestic total to $69.7 million.
