Thousands of shoppers descend on Birmingham for the opening of the world's biggest Primark

Thousands of bargain hunters descended on a city centre for the grand opening of the world's biggest Primark today (Thurs).

Hundreds of shoppers queued from 7am ahead of the eagerly anticipated unveiling of the retailer's flagship store in Birmingham.

Around 5,000 eager customers flocked to the city's High Street and swarmed into the shop when it officially opened its doors at 10am.

Some had travelled from as far as Cardiff and Sunderland in search of bargains at the cut-price retailer.
