Business Insider reports soccer star Lionel Messi was injured after he was challenged by Chris Smalling during a UEFA Champions League match. FC Barcelona was in the north of England for the first leg of its Champions League quarter-final against Manchester United. Smalling told the BBC before the match that marking Messi was "a challenge to relish." Midway through, Smalling barged Messi as Messi was waiting for the ball to come his way.
