An Army veteran is the UK’s oldest runner after being picked to compete for England – AGED 80. Superfit Lindsay Pulley was signed up by England Athletics' Masters Team to tackle a gruelling 10K (6.2 miles) run next month. He qualified for the national team after completing the Chester 10K race in 34 minutes last month. The veteran runner will compete against other nations at next month's Simplyhealth Great Birmingham Run. Mr Pulley started his obsession with fitness and running when he carried out his national service in the Army in 1960.
