Russia Says It Will Release Orcas, Belugas From 'Whale Jail' Unlisted Video

Huff Post reports Russian officials say experts will try to evaluate and free the dozens of captive whales from holding pens that have been called “whale jail.” The New York Times reported this week that Russia’s minister of natural resources said the situation is unprecedented since there are 10 orcas and 87 belugas that need to be released. The whales were captured in 2018 by companies with intentions to sell them to aquariums and marine parks.
