On Thursday NASA shared images captured by its Mars rover Curiosity of solar eclipses caused by Phobos and Deimos, which are the two moons of Mars. Geek.com reports that the solar filters on Curiosity’s Mast Camera or Mastcam, allowed it to stare directly into the sun and capture the spectacular imagery of the eclipses. NASA said that observing solar eclipses help researchers fine-tune their understanding of each moon’s orbit around Mars.
