Rep. Maxine Waters

Rep, Maxine Waters was honored with the Chairman’s Award at the 50th Annual NAACP Awards. According to Extra, Waters was one of the first people to publicly support the actor Jussie Smollett. Smollett reported a hate crime against them, then was charged for lying about it and then the charges were dropped. Waters said it was “the correct thing that the charges were dropped,” although nobody will probably know all of the details.
