Beyoncé and Jay-Z stole were recently honored with GLAAD's Vanguard Award in recognition of their support for LGBTQ causes. After receiving the award, the couple paid tribute to their own LGBTQ family members. Beyoncé opened up about her uncle Johnny who was a gay man living "his truth." She said watching the man who helped raise her and her sister struggle with HIV was a painful experience in her life. Jay-Z on the other hand spoke about his mother, who came out as lesbian in his 2017 album.
