Tattooed Mummies of Benguet, Philippines (Full Video)
This is a video of a well preserved mummy with beautiful tattoos marked on some parts of its body. This is just one of the many mummies preserved and the practice is believed by some scientists to have started since 2000 BC until the 16th Century when the Spaniards started to colonize the
Philippines. The mummies are particularly kept safe in the burial caves of Timbak, Kabayan, Benguet which is 6-8 hours away from the country's capital, Manila. Recently, the burial caves were closed to the public for further preservation and safety. This video, by the way, was taken in 2016.
