SUV 4x4 UAZ "Loaf". It is clear that this model does not quite fit into the priorities on this site, but it is impossible to ignore such a wonderful specimen. Still, with it you can get a lot of pleasure, except for direct benefits.

Once I had the need to transport some dimensional things. It was decided to purchase for these purposes a minibus with a van for a not very large amount (up to $ 3,000 in prices until 2014), which was cheaper than hiring a truck with movers and the usual hassle for such cases. I looked first Japanese minivans type toyota hiace, town ace, nissan vanette, mazda 2200. Of course, great cars, all of their advantages, comfort for the driver, etc., especially if used for work every day. I did not have such a need - I needed a car for specific to the extent of frequent freight traffic. And besides, I thought what I would do with the Japanese later, when the need for transportation would disappear, why should I have a minibus? And UAZ can be left for the fan - in the forest, for example, for the wood to ride. And he began to watch the Uaziki, popularly referred to as "loaf", "loaf" or "nurse" (by the way, the loaf is perhaps the most appropriate name, because it is definitely necessary to dope with everyday use of this car).

First, I went to look at the auto show new copies, so that there was something to equal. New loaf cost from 4000doll. Since neither the exterior nor the interior of the car has undergone any particular changes over the past at least 20 years, it became clear that there was no point in buying a new car, especially since it was a used vehicle. the owners have already worked to bring to mind. I looked through six loaves of different years of release - from 89 to 98. Not one liked: either corrosion, or stalls right during the show, or the price does not match the state, etc. In addition, many owners had the sense to tell how much they had done with the car lately, which indicated that the shed was pouring out terribly, but that was not desirable, since I myself do not repair the car, and the typical owners of UAZ do not disdain repair. But during one of the shows, when the owner showed patency, he firmly decided that for me the UAZ would definitely be better than a Japanese woman - what a pleasure from her? And here is a real jeep! It’s good to have a jeep on the farm (and it’s also prestigious :-).

After several unsuccessful views, the award finally found a hero. Issue 93, low price ($ 700). After two months of inactivity, the engine started up the second time. This circumstance just won me over. In addition, the front seats have already been changed to imported (from some foreign cars). Standard loaf seats for operation are completely unsuitable, or it is necessary to enclose quilted jackets from all sides. There were two more seats in the van, welded in the middle of the van to the floor on the rack; the rest of the space was littered with some sort of metal trash. At the same time, all the windows of the van from the inside, as well as the doorway between the cab and the van, were barred in the event that intruders entered the van with the aim of seizing valuable materials and tools. According to the owner, the van was used by the wardrobe assembly brigade, but decided to sell it because uncomfortable and noisy ride. True, razdatka did not work, but the owner agreed to throw, and for 500 why not take the car?

What happened as a result. When registering at the traffic police (before I did not pay attention to it, now I understand it :-) it turned out that my body is not a Uazovskiy, but of some kind of experimental plant. That is, at first glance, the average person cannot distinguish him, but if you look closely, you can. So, all the windows and doors of the van are non-standard. The experimental plant was - now, of course, no longer works. Broken glass on the market is not found, must be ordered separately. In addition, it turned out that the van's side windows of the same appearance still differ slightly in size - apparently, at the experimental plant, glass was cut for a specific experimental body. You will think that I have some rare freak - no, there are about 10% of such total loaves. Also in the traffic police it turned out that I should have 7 seats on my passport, and that there are not enough three in kind, my problem is - take it out and put it on! What to do - took out and put ...

After the release of the van from the metal trash, it turned out that there was practically no floor in the van - it was all rust. I had to digest the entire floor, including the subframe (or nadramnik) of steel pipes. But a completely unnecessary step at the entrance to the van from the right side door was replaced with a tool box (as on foreign-made mikriks). Plus, the floor of the van was sheathed with bakelite plywood from the inside - so beautiful and reliable. At the same time, the seats from the middle of the van were cut off and replaced with a couple of Ford's transit (stumbled upon good luck in the barn), and placed them with their backs in the direction of travel, so that there was more room for the carriage of cargo. The battery, which is standard located directly behind the driver's seat, was moved to the van, under the sea.
