Georgia Senate passes heartbeat abortion bill

The bill passed by Georgia's Senate, HB481, would limit abortions to the first six weeks of pregnancy versus the first 20 weeks, except for cases of rape and incest. Why? Because it's around the 7th week or so that an unborn baby's heartbeat can be detected by medical equipment.
For a woman in Georgia to obtain an abortion past six weeks, she'd need to have police papers providing that she'd filed a report alleging rape or incest occurred.
The bill must now return to the state House for another review. If HB481 passes the House and is signed into law by Gov. Brian Kemp, it'll represent a huge win for the pro-life activists and their unborn constituents.
