According to Uproxx, actress Emilia Clarke's life almost came to a sad, short end twice while filming Game of Thrones.
In a recent interview with the New Yorker, she talks about surviving an aneurysm—twice—once in 2011 after season one wrapped and again after finishing season three.
Emilia explains, "The diagnosis was quick and ominous: a subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH), a life-threatening type of stroke, caused by bleeding into the space surrounding the brain...For the patients who do survive, urgent treatment is required to seal off the aneurysm, as there is a very high risk of a second, often fatal bleed."
Although she recovered, the actress says that she often battles anxiety—even while on set.
She adds, "If I am truly being honest, every minute of every day I thought I was going to die.”
But now she dedicates her time to "SameYou," a charity that helps people recovering from brain injuries and strokes.
