According to Gizmodo.com, "Fifty-year-old frozen semen from a ram, believed to be the oldest in the world, is still achieving high fertility rates, according to researchers. The semen, stored in a laboratory in Sydney, was defrosted and successfully used to impregnate 34 Merino ewes." Dr. Jessica Rickard from the University of Sydney said, "We believe this is the oldest viable stored semen of any species in the world and definitely the oldest sperm used to produce offspring."
