Motor sports are extremely popular though out the world. Monster Jam brings adrenaline charged family entertainment excitement to fans across the county. These world class vehicles and athletes really put on a show recently for its Vancouver British Columbia fans. The event challenges the athletes to put their highly modified, super powered vehicles through numerous head-to-head competitions. The fans are given the opportunity to vote on each performance and for their favourite driver athlete. Brent the videographer mentioned" it has been probably 20 years since I have been to this event. It is still super exciting but one thing I noticed, technology has come into play here too, we can now vote for a driver's skills through our cell phones!". Yes fans can vote along with the authorized judges to help their favourite athlete gain points towards an overall event win. Jumping these 12 thousand pound trucks over 10 feet in the air puts incredible stresses on the equipment. Costing approximately $150,000 U.S dollars to build, these trucks are not for beginners. That is just to get started. Reportsd show that to keep Gravedigger active for a season costs around $600 thousand U.S dollars per season. Their 2000 horsepower engines charge these gigantic trucks around the track at a pretty good clip. The tires alone are around 5 feet tall and weigh around 900 pounds each. You won't be changing one of those on the side of the road!!! In this clip we see Gravedigger and Jekyll & Hyde going head-to-head in the final of the open class. Very entertaining and exciting to see just how these trucks can be maneuvered. These trucks and athletes tour the United States and Canada so keep an eye out for the show coming to a town near you. It is worth taking in, fun for the whole family but remember your ear plugs!!!
