Different communities of chimps have unique cultures, but that behavioral diversity is shrinking, according to a new study. Wild chimpanzees can only be found in 21 countries in Africa, and both wild and captive chimpanzees are considered endangered. Researchers are now proposing the creation of “chimpanzee cultural heritage sites," says Gizmodo. This would ensure the recognition and preservation of behavioral and cultural diversity.
