According to Comicbook.com, Steven Spielberg is looking to make a rule change for the Academy Awards. Spielberg reportedly presented an idea to the Academy’s Board of Governors that would eliminate streaming platforms. The filmmaker said in the past he thinks these films can compete for Emmy Awards but not Oscars. A spokesperson said Spielberg finds a distinction between “the streaming and theatrical situation.” Netflix film “Roma” was nominated for 10 Oscars at this year’s Academy Awards.
