Red light violation leads to serious crash

The traffic light at Woolbright Road and Congress Avenue was red for 6.5 seconds when a black Lexus drove through it at 58 miles per hour and plowed into a silver Honda Accord. The crash occurred at 9:38 p.m. on Feb. 15. Both drivers were taken to the hospital to be treated for injuries. We routinely share videos of red light camera violations in the hopes of creating a constructive dialogue about the importance of stopping on red, and the dangers of distracted driving. We all need to slow down, put away the cell phone and pay attention to everything going on around us.
