Boynton Beach officer struck by car while chasing suspect in serious condition

A Boynton Beach police officer struck by a vehicle Wednesday afternoon while chasing a shoplifting suspect is in serious condition, Boynton Beach Police Chief Michael G. Gregory said Thursday morning. The chief did not identify him but said the 34-year-old officer has been on the force less than a year. He said his mother and father are with him at the hospital.
