The U.S. House of Representatives shot down Donald Trump’s national emergency. They voted that building a wall on the border with Mexico did not merit a national emergency. The 245-182 vote made it clear Trump could not use Congress funds for his wall. The bill will now go to the Senate, which is currently run by Republicans. No matter what, Trump vowed to veto the rejection and would need a two-thirds majority to approve it.
