Sally Field inspired Regina King to become an actress with her roles in “Sybil” and “Norma Rae.” King said: “I felt so many emotions watching both of those movies, and I just was like, 'I want to make people feel like that.'" According to CNN, King does exactly that as an actress and is seen as an “emotional undercurrent.” King’s latest role is the matriarch Sharon Rivers in “If Beale Street Could Talk.
