Gino Recchia NBC26 Storm Shield Weather Forecast

It was a nice and sunny start to our weekend but Sunday will be different. There is a developing storm system over the Central Plains that will affect the Midwest and Great Lakes. Snowfall accumulation will be rather light and will also be confined to our southern areas. If you live north of Highway 29, you will see perhaps just a few at most whereas Fond Du Lac will pick up between 1 and 3 inches. Tonight temperatures dip into the lower teens but then will begin to gradually rise overnight as clouds move in. Winds will be coming in out of the northeast around 5 to 10 mph. Snow will begin to our south and gradually lift north during the morning tomorrow before pushing back south later in the evening. Temperatures will rise into the lower 20s with winds out of the northeast around 10 to 20 mph. Snowfall totals will be a dusting to an inch from Highway 29 to Highway 10. South of highway 10, snowfall totals will be 1 to 3 inches. Lakeside counties of Sheboygan could see localized totals near 4 inches due to lake effect influences. Besides a few flurries in the morning Monday, skies will clear by the evening with highs around 20. Mostly sunny Tuesday with a high around 20 again. Several inches of snow may fall on Wednesday as we see our next storm move in mid-week. Temperatures will be in the upper 20s.
