Plows working non-stop in Brown County

Much of Wisconsin has dealt with a bizarre weather week: first sub-zero temperatures, then warmer weather with rain and fog. The Brown County Public Works Director, Paul Fontecchio, says plow crews have been working non-stop since Saturday. He says the arctic blast that we were dealt just last week didn't equate to much salt for the ice being used, because it doesn't work in that cold of weather. He added that with the wet roads out there Monday night, his crews are planning on being out once again. "We were out Saturday night into Sunday morning. We were out at 3am this morning,” Fontecchio said. “And it looks like we'll be out tonight as the temperatures drop and it gets cold and whatever liquid freezes." Monday night, even with plows out there salting, you should expect some of that water on the roads to be freezing. Temperatures are dropping. Even though they are more pleasant than they were last week, the warmth is creating slick spots all over the place.
