A horrified couple face having to pay out tens of thousands of pounds after the garden at their new home turned into a bombsite - by two hidden underground springs. Patricia Crane, 62, and husband Ron were delighted to move into their £320k bungalow and quickly set about making it their new home. However soon afterwards they noticed the rear garden was regularly becoming seriously flooded turning it into a quagmire and their home was constantly damp. Now after months of wrangling with council chiefs and environment bosses they have discovered that two natural, underground springs are the cause. They have been forced to pay specialist engineers to come and stop the flooding.
