The Rolling Stones, May 11 1998, at Qualcomm Stadium, San Diego, during the Bridges to Babylon tour. A blistering 2-hour concert that captures the band at absolute peak swagger: blistering "Satisfaction" opener, a snarling "It’s Only Rock ’n’ Roll," rare live gems like "Saint of Me" and "Out of Control," Keith’s raw "Thief in the Night" and "Wanna Hold You," plus the iconic web-voted “Memory Motel” with Dave Matthews guesting on vocals. Mick’s voice is razor-sharp, the band is locked in, the crowd is deafening, and the soundboard quality is pristine. One of the very best pro-shot/FM boots from the entire 90s Stones era.
The Rolling Stones, formed in London in 1962, are one of the most influential and enduring rock bands in history, active for over six decades and synonymous with the rebellious spirit of the genre. Their early sound, rooted in blues and rhythm driven rock, helped define hard rock and set them apart during the British Invasion of the mid 1960s. The original lineup featured Mick Jagger, Brian Jones, Keith Richards, Bill Wyman, and Charlie Watts, with Jones initially steering the band’s image before Jagger and Richards emerged as the primary creative force under manager Andrew Loog Oldham’s guidance. Beginning with covers, they quickly found success with their own material, producing a legendary run of albums that includes Aftermath (1966), Beggars Banquet (1968), Let It Bleed (1969), Sticky Fingers (1971), and Exile on Main St. (1972), followed by later classics such as Some Girls (1978), Tattoo You (1981), Voodoo Lounge (1994), and Blue & Lonesome (2016). Across their vast discography, the Stones pioneered a gritty, electrifying sound that continues to resonate worldwide, cementing their reputation as the definitive rock and roll band.
